CNY Lawn Service FAQ

We know picking a lawn service is a pretty big deal.  There are a lot of lawn services in Syracuse’s suburbs to pick from, but which is the best fit for your specific needs?  

We hope we are.  If you are looking for a locally owned and operated business you can trust working on your property and around your family, that is exactly what we offer.

Is it safe for pets and kids?

Yes—your family’s safety is our top priority. All of our treatments are professionally applied in strict accordance with product labels and safety guidelines.

For lawn care and mosquito applications, we simply recommend that pets and children remain off the treated areas until the product has fully dried, which usually takes about 1–2 hours, depending on weather conditions.

Once dry, your yard is good to enjoy again! If you ever have questions about a specific treatment or product, we’re happy to provide more information.

Do You Offer Insect Control Services?

Yes! We specialize in professional mosquito, tick, and exterior pest control services designed to help protect your home, family, pets, and outdoor living spaces.

Our mosquito and tick control program includes multiple strategically timed treatments throughout the season to dramatically reduce mosquito and tick populations, allowing you to enjoy your yard with fewer bites and less worry about tick-borne illnesses.

We also offer Exterior Pest Control services that target common nuisance insects around your home’s exterior, including ants, spiders, stink bugs, boxelder bugs, cluster flies, and other crawling insects. Treatments focus on the foundation, entry points, eaves, windows, doors, and other areas where pests commonly enter the home.

Whether you’re looking to take back your yard from mosquitoes and ticks or create a protective barrier around your home to keep unwanted pests outside, we can customize a solution that fits your needs.

Do you offer ‘landscaping’ services?

While we do not currently offer full-scale landscaping services such as hardscaping, planting design, or mulching, Premier Lawn and Mosquito Services focuses on what we do best—keeping your lawn healthy, green, and pest-free.

Our core services include:

Can I get a quote over the phone?

For most services we can quote without looking at the property in person. We are able to use satellite imagery and measure the turf square footage and provide an estimate that way.

Do I need to be home for services?

No. As long as the backyard is accessible.  You are welcome to provide us with a key or access code so we can enter your backyard without you needing to be home.

Do I have to be home to pay for my services?

Nope! You do not need to be home to pay for your services. We’ve designed our system for maximum convenience.

Most of our clients choose to store a card securely on file through their client portal, which allows for automatic billing after each visit or prepayment for the season (which usually comes with a 5% discount!).

You’ll receive an invoice via email after each service (or in advance if you prepay), and you can also log into your client portal at any time to manage payments and view your account.

If you’d prefer to mail a check or pay another way, that’s totally fine too—just let us know what works best for you!

If it’s raining on my scheduled date, when should I expect service?

We monitor the extended weather in the Syracuse, NY area. In the event your scheduled date falls on a rainy day, we will service your property 1 to 2 days before it rains or 1 to 2 days after the weather has cleared.  If conditions are too windy treatments will also have to be delayed per application regulations set forth by the DEC.

Can we request service on a specific day of the week or a specific time of the day?

We will try to accommodate your specific day request, but cannot guarantee it. We service specific locations on certain days of the week; therefore, we cannot take specific time requests.

Can you still service my back yard if my dog is in the back yard and he does not bite?

Due to the safety of all personnel and your pet(s), we cannot service the back yard if your pets are not secured in the house. This also includes people and children. It’s for their safety!

Can I call and skip a scheduled service?

Yes! If you need to skip or reschedule a service, just contact us at least 24 hours in advance, and we’ll take care of it.

Please note that if a service is skipped or delayed, we can’t always guarantee exactly when we’ll be back in your area—but we’ll do our best to fit you in as soon as our schedule allows.

Am I responsible for removing any items in my yard prior to service?

Yes.

Yes, we kindly ask that you remove any toys, pet bowls, or other personal items from your lawn or yard before your scheduled service. This helps ensure a safe and effective application.

If left in the yard, there’s a chance these items could be exposed to treatments like weed control or insect control. While our products are applied carefully, it’s always best to clear the area to avoid any unintended contact.

Do I need to identify my watering system or sprinkler heads in my yard?

Yes.

In order to avoid damages to your watering system, customers are responsible for informing Premier Lawn Services of the locations of sprinkler heads and or watering systems just below the surface. In addition, customers will be liable for unforeseen damages to these items unless Premier Lawn Services was informed after identifying all watering and sprinkler heads in the yard.  This usually only pertain to aeration services.
