Lawn Q and A

CNY Lawn Service FAQ

We know picking a lawn service is a pretty big deal.  There are a lot of lawn services in Syracuse’s suburbs to pick from, but which is the best fit for your specific needs?

We hope we are.  If you are looking for a locally owned and operated business you can trust working on your property and around your family, that is exactly what we offer.

Do you offer insect control services?

Yes.

We offer a dedicated mosquito control service and also control certain insects in your lawn with our lawn treatment service.  These include ticks, grubs, and other unwanted and harmful insects.

Do you offer ‘landscaping’ services?

No, we do not.  We are a dedicated lawn care service.  We focus on turf health and appearance and insect and disease control for lawns.

We used to offer grass cutting and shrub pruning services but no longer do.  The only services we currently offer that could be considered ‘landscaping’ are our fall leaf removal service and our garden bed weeding service.

We remove leaves because it is very important that leaves do not sit on the lawn over the winter months as it raises the possibility of fungus and/or disease being introduced to the lawn and too many leaves can smother the grass beneath.

We control weeds in garden or flower beds as an optional add-on service because we do not want weeds spreading from your flower beds into your lawn!

Can I get a quote over the phone?

For most services we can quote without looking at the property in person. We are able to use satellite imagery and measure the turf square footage and provide an estimate that way.

Do I need to be home for services?

No. As long as the backyard is accessible.  You are welcome to provide us with a key or access code so we can enter your backyard without you needing to be home.

Do I have to be home to pay for my services?

No.

All customers with recurring services must have a credit or debit card on file, which is charged within 1 week after each individual service is provided. We will then send you a receipt. Our goal is to make the payment process as stress-free as possible.

Is flowerbed cleaning part of the regular maintenance service?

No.

Flowerbed cleaning is an additional cost. In addition, flowerbeds that have rocks cannot be string-trimmed. It must be pulled by hand, which prevents damages from throwing rocks with the string trimmer.

If it’s raining on my scheduled date, when should I expect service?

We monitor the extended weather in the Syracuse, NY area. In the event your scheduled date falls on a rainy day, we will service your property 1 to 2 days before it rains or 1 to 2 days after the weather has cleared.  If conditions are too windy treatments will also have to be delayed per application regulations set forth by the DEC.

Can we request service on a specific day of the week or a specific time of the day?

We will try to accommodate your specific day request, but cannot guarantee it. We service specific locations on certain days of the week; therefore, we cannot take specific time requests.

Can you still service my back yard if my dog is in the back yard and he does not bite?

Due to the safety of all personnel and your pet(s), we cannot service the back yard if your pets are not secured in the house. This also includes people and children. It’s for their safety!

Can I call and skip a scheduled service?

If you skip a service, we cannot guarantee your current price or service day. Our lawn technicians work on a schedule in order to provide reliable and timely services.

Am I responsible for removing any items in my yard prior to service?

Yes.

It’s best to remove all items in your yard for safety and protection. For example: kids toys, water toys, grills, above ground yard sprinklers, dog chains, and all small unseen items. Premier Lawn Services will not be held liable for damages to items left in your yard.

Do I need to identify my watering system or sprinkler heads in my yard?

Yes.

In order to avoid damages to your watering system, customers are responsible for informing Premier Lawn Services of the locations of sprinkler heads and or watering systems just below the surface. In addition, customers will be liable for unforeseen damages to these items unless Premier Lawn Services was informed after identifying all watering and sprinkler heads in the yard.
